After other week of yet no solid idea we are expanding and looking into client briefs/competitions and have seen a few which I myself would like to look further into which will be my main priority this week. D&AD will be the main website which I will be looking for my possible idea and will begin exploring that especially since looking at a specific brief I will be able to narrow down my skills and pick the ones which I believe I will excel at, Design or Animation is the two areas where in which I will be focusing on. To make sure I don’t fall too far behind I have been working on my own personal branding to make sure my design skills are up to standard and also might give me some inspiration in the future!

Me and Ryan had our first meeting as a pair with James today, still no idea however we have been recommended to purchase the Wired magazine which we have done so and found some inspirations but yet again for ideas which have already been done or even struggled to take off. One of our ideas was to create a use for the google glass but didn’t quite work out due to it not being very popular as such and the world is just not quite ready for it, yet! We also had an idea for some kind of car windscreen UI which after little research we found that a lot of the major companies are actually already looking into building it, which we would stand no chance against. However we go back to work looking for that perfect idea!

Two weeks into my third year studies and our original idea ‘My Diet Pal’ has been put to an end due to feedback from the tutors, however we can push on from this and make something better and something probably more in our comfort zones. Me and Ryan over the next week or so will be looking into possible future ideas already having a few in mind.

We as a pair are struggling for ideas, especially since every idea we have seems to already exist. We won’t settle for a easy route and go with an idea which we know will get us just an easy grade we want something that is going to be challenging yet rewarding at the end, especially for one of our final projects!

This week I have been getting back into the swing of things working on mine and Ryan’s app idea which we have been working on during the summer. I personally have been working on hand drawn re-branding of the app and have been sketching a few ideas after doing my research on similar styles. After drawing up my final design I took it into illustrator and made the logo up which will be the working logo for now unless we think of something else which we believe will look better! I have started to look into app design and even managed to make my first app with just a greetings message and a search bar, very basic stuff however its a start!
