Animation 2 Storyboard

Here below is the storyboards for the second animation I will be doing. It goes along the same sort of theme with the graphics and the overall look of it however this one will be all the same long shot but follows the car as it goes through the ‘city’ and each shot will look different, in the same style but different houses and backgrounds etc.

The difference in this one is there will be an animation of song titles changing in the top right of the screen which is just represent the driver changing songs on his phone. There will be a close up shot of the phone just to clarify that the driver is using his/her phone.

Animation 1 Storyboard

This week I have tried to crack on with the whole pre-production of my animation so then I can just crack down on my animations.

With this first animation I have tried to stick with what I originally first thought it should look like and will be a mixture of long shots, mid shots and close ups. I have had these prepared for my meeting with Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership on the 21/11/2016 where I will be meeting John to go over and discuss the overall looking of my animation and after them showing interest in my animation which we will also be discussing further!

Research

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37968722 – Police Crackdown On Use Of Mobiles When Driving.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37389800 – Texting drivers: Penalty points and fines to double.

These recent news articles couldn’t have come at a better time for my animation as the use of mobile phones whilst driving was a known problem but now the police are showing incentive to crack down on it and in long term save life’s. I could now add in my animation about the 6 points and the 200 pound fine to raise awareness as not many people have 200 pound to pay off a fine and some can’t afford the points on their license as it can cost them a job. In the article it also says second time offenders can face up to 1000 pound fine and a 6 month driving ban which is a hefty increase as of recent and seems this is sometimes the only way to get across to people.

First Video Test

I have put what I have made in illustrator into Adobe Animate. Baring in mind this is the first time I have even played about with Animate I feel as though it is a step in the right direction and will help me a lot within the next week or so when it comes to beginning my final animations which is why I didn’t want to leave it too late to learn a new piece of software. I know this little video is no one near perfect however it is a starting point, for example I know I need to slow the plane down as its quite hard to read the message and take in the surroundings. Once the storyboards and scripts are complete then I can begin to design and animate the rest of the animation of this one and the other two!

Weekly Progress Update

Here’s a quick update on what I have done this week:

Monday night after my meeting with James he really sunk into me how much I need to speed my work up and I produced what I showed in my last post and on Wednesday night I decided on how I could make it better with the following designs below. These obviously aren’t the final designs but I feel like I am approaching that way as I feel both of them are very professional looking and suit the intended audience! There are a few more finishing touches which I will add when finalising my designs such as adding the flag effect onto the banner to make it look more like it should but essential these two pictures are going to be apart of one the 30 second adverts one being when the driver is doing wrong and the other when hes doing what he should have done etc.

I have also made contact with the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership about a possibility of including my animation to broaden the information and videos on there website, I also asked for any official advice they would typically include in one of there videos to portray the intended message of the animation.

I have begun scripting and story-boarding my ideas down to get a smoother process when it comes to making the animation isn’t of just winging it!
